Padraig Mor -- The Irish Rebel Music Of Padraig Mor (Saoirse & Shebeen)

How many more must die now how many must we lose

Before the Irish people their own destiny can choose

From immortal Robert Emmet to Bobby Sands M.P.

And we gave him thirty thousand votes while in captivity

Well no more he'll hear the lark's sweet note upon the Ulster air

Or gaze across the snowflakes pure to calm his deep despair

For before he went on hunger strike young Bobby did compose

The Rhythm Of Time, The Weeping Winds & The Sleeping Rose

He was a poet & a soldier he died courageously

And we gave him thirty thousand votes while in captivity

Thomas Ashe he gave everything in 1917

The Lord Mayor of Cork, MacSwiney died his freedom to obtain

But never one of all our fallen died more courageously

Than young Bobby Sands from Twinbrook the people's own M.P.

Well forever we will remember him that man who died in pain

That his country North & South might be united once again

For to mourn him is to organise & build a movement strong

With armalite & ballot box in his music & his songs
