The Irish Folk Music of Pádraig Mór & Saoirse

Padraig Mor -- The Irish Rebel Music Of Padraig Mor (Saoirse & Shebeen)

...O'Hara, Hughes, McCreesh & Sands, Docherty & Lynch,

McDonnell, Hurson, McElwee, Devine...

Call me what you will & tell me what they say

For tomorrow brings a new wind and the rain has gone away

For within these walls I see the sun as it shines over the hill

Down into the valleys & amongst the daffodils

But when this war is over & I see your face again

Then I'll tell you of the warriors who put death before revenge

Now here we starve in prison to uphold our fellow men

Who have only a woolen blanket & a crucifix in their hands

Bitter Screws harass & give them hell but their spirits they cannot break

Hold your chins up lads keep marching on, we don't think she'll leave it to late

Bobby was the first to go with Francis close behind

The people streamed unto the streets to have faith was not a crime

And faith is what those men had when they chose to join our fight

Their actions were political, can't those british see we were right

The days rolled by & two more died, O'Hara & McCreesh

Still Thatcher chose to bite her lip, the toil was not to cease

But the barricades went up by day as the bullets hummed by night

How much longer must we keep this path, there is still no end in sight

It's a dreadful thing that these men joined our ranks of martyred braves

That's ten too many coffin nails, kicked coldly to their graves

Oh but if they'd only realise & Thatcher mark us well

That's ten more determined reasons for to break out of this hell
